« I am going to talk about the notion of « myths and heroes ».

First of all, I would like to give a quick definition of that notion.

Briefly, a myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion.

Then, a hero is a person admired for his achievements, noble qualities and great courage.

Moreover, they can be fictional like Superman, Batman, or real.

To speak about this notion, I've chosen to speak of the place of hero in society.

To illustrate this notion, I will use six various documents. · The first document is text « Father » of Andre Brink.

The text talk about in generally of the segregation of black people in South Africa .

The narrator was born into a wealthy and privileged white family .

Her father is a magistrate .

They are a the top of the social lader and despise black people .

He is treated as a slave and is deprived of any fundammental rights .

The father was racist .

She regards his as a coward .

· We were asked to choose "Who is your Heroes?", I decided to choose Zorro and Batman because they do not own super-power.

These are people who risk their lives to save other.

Real Hero. · We also saw a part of Frankenstein movie of james whale and the beginning of the chapter five of Mary Shelley.

The birth of the creature is a terrible event , but the creature doesn’t look like a baby at all .

It is not a normal birth , no joy , no noise at all .

The creature is ugly , it’s a monster .

We can say he tried to play god and brake the laws of nature .

· We have also text : « Runnings with Indians » of Sherman Alexie .

The narrator is an old man , he is an America Indian fighting with his tribe against white soldiers .

He is tired and wounded .

Briefly ,he talks about an old man who sacrifices his life and the white hero who deserted the army to save a child. In conclusion, society create myths and heroes to dream the best of the world, imagine perfection.

And thereafter, it throws these fictional heroes in real life to have models and progress in the right direction.

I think the heroes are a good way to set goals in life, to have an example to follow when we are lost.

The desire of the unreal, dreams can also be a good point but be aware the difference between reality and fiction. I am going to talk about the notion of « spaces and exchanges ».

The notion "Spaces and exchanges" deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies.

Our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces.

The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern-day world. To illustrate this notion, I will use some documents : · We can speak the text " Father" of André Brink, because it presents the installation of white settlers in South Africa .

The text talk about in generally of the segregation of black people in South Africa .

The narrator was born into a wealthy and privileged. »
