« One of the greatest heroes that I have heard of is Mahatama Gandhi.

He was a thinker, a philosopher, and also a statesman.

He was a messenger of peace; his language nourished reconciliation, and his actions encouraged co-existence. Mahatma Gandhi was born on October , 1869, in Porbandar in India.

Gandhi was a shy and serious boy and grew up in an atmosphere of religious tolerance and acceptance of teachings of various Hindu sects.

When he was 13 years old, he married Kasturibhai, a girl of the same age.

The Gandhi's had four children.

At the age of 19, Gandhi traveled to England to study law. Once ,when Gandhi was in Africa , he got kicked of a train by a white man because he was supposed ton sit in the third class because of his skin color and he was in the first class.

He refused to move and he got kicked. After this moment , Gandhi started the non-violence mouvement.

He helped to free India from British colonial rule and he resolved a lot of conflict between Hindu and Muslim.I believe that all nations of the world deserve to be independent and to govern themselves.  By fighting for India's freedom, Gandhi helped his people gain something that is a fundamental right of all humans: liberty .That makes him a hero. I believe Gandhi was a hero because he fought for two main thing : peace and non-violence in a way that was both brave and morally unassailable. He had a amazing willpower considering he went on several hunger strikes just to get violence to stop.

He dedicated his entire life to the hope that one day people could live in a more peaceful world. Ghandi represents to me what I hope humankind can be.

He gives me faith in the goodness of people.

Gandhi was not perfect, but I deeply admire his desire and committment to the truth.

Through his internal sturggles, he was always guided by truth.  . »
