One of the primary reasons for enforcing border control measures is to prevent unauthorized entry into the country. Unauthorized entry refers to individuals who attempt to cross the border without the necessary legal documentation or approval.By implementing stringent border control measures such as physical barriers, surveillance systems, and immigration checkpoints, countries can effectively deter and detect individuals who try to enter without proper authorization.

This helps maintain the integrity of the country’s immigration system and ensures that only individuals who meet the necessary criteria for entry are allowed into the country. Unauthorized entry poses significant risks to national security as it can lead to various issues, including illegal immigration, criminal activities, and potential threats from individuals with malicious intent.

ERO also enhances the impact of multi-agency task forces through its administrative authority to arrest individuals deemed a threat to public safety on their unlawful immigration status without additional criminal charges.

ERO develops investigative leads and provides support in locating and arresting foreign nationals wanted for crimes committed abroad who are now at-large in the U.S.. Combating Transnational Crime.
