It is the world's leading producer of false teeth and sausage skins.
A small state in the heart of the Alps, the principality of Liechtenstein
is bordered by the Rhine.
The country is still economically linked with
Switzerland with which it has formed a customs, monetary and postal
union.
But in 1995 the customs union treaty was called into question by
Liechtenstein's membership of the European Economic Area.
Tax advantages attract large numbers of foreign companies who have
established their head offices here.
Women only achieved the right to vote in national elections in 1984..
