It is an adaptation of the novel Miss Peregrine 's Home for Peculiar Children of Ransom Rigg.

This movie is a fantastic drama. Tim Burton is an American film director, screenwriter and producer, he has already directed 48 films and short films and is currently making a new one called "night of living". The summary is : In 2016, Jake Portman is a shy 16-year-old teenager leading a peaceful life in Florida.

One evening, he receives a call from his grandfather Abe, whom he is very close to, who seems to be in a panic. Accompanied by his work colleague, Shelley, he goes to his home to discover his vandalized apartment and, not far from there, the body of his grandfather whose eyes were torn off.

Before dying, Abe confusingly talks to Jake about a loop and a bird.

It is then that a humanoid monster appears to Jake, but it is pushed back by Shelley (who does not see it however, being satisfied to shoot at random). Jake and his father Frank go to the village of Cairnholm, lost on an island in Wales.

Two children from the island then drive Jake to the boarding school, which is in ruins, destroyed by a bombing of the Luftwaffe on the evening of September 3, 1943.

He learns premises that the director and her boarders were all killed.

Jake, incredulous, returns to the scene.

However, he is no longer alone: children are present and seem to wait for him.

Terrified, Jake runs away, but he stumbles and hits a rock.

It is then recovered by children, the same children whose grandfather spoke to him during his childhood: Olive, a young pyromancer, Millard, an invisible boy, Bronwyn, a girl with a colossal force, the Twins, two completely masked children and Emma, who has the particularity to float in the air.

With them, Jacob discovers that only his own "peculiarity" can save his new friends.

They will try to save the curls of their enemies. The main characters are : • Miss Alma Peregrine: She is an Ombrune a woman who has the power to turn into a bird. His second gift of Ombrune is to manipulate time.

She is the Director of the Residential School for Special Children in the Cairnholm Time Loop.

She is played by a famous french actress who is Eva Green.

During his childhood, his grandfather Abe told him stories about "special" children.

After finding him dying (his eyes torn off and his body covered with bruises) in his garden one evening, Jake is forced to consult a psychiatrist, Dr. Golan.

He explains that, in order to finish his mourning, he should go to the famous island where Miss Peregrine and the private children would have lived.

There he discovers that they exist and that they live thanks to a temporal loop that they renew every night.

He makes lots of new friends and falls in love with Emma.

He is played by Asa Butterfield. • Emma Bloom : Emma is a special girl with exceptional power: she is lighter than air.

To walk, she is obliged to wear heavy shoes weighted with lead.

To use her powers, she must be barefoot.

She had a romantic relationship with Abe, Jake's grandfather.

In the book that inspired the film, Emma has the power to manipulate and create fire at will.
