ARE ROBOTIC TAXIS OUR FUTUR?
Hello everybody, my name is Lena and today I am going to introduce you the
new robotic taxis in San Fransisco.
And if they could become our future?
So to begin with, I am going to present this innovation to you, then I will
present you why is their people who disagree with this idea, we will pursue
with a study of these cars and my opinion and then finally I am going to do a
little conclusion about it.
Firstly, I am going to tell you more about these cars.
So, Cruise (which is a subsidiary of General Motors) wanted to introduce 30
electric vehicles that will be used in some parts of San Francisco to transport
passengers from 10p.m.
to 6a.m.
Finally, after a vote of the California Public
Utilities Commission, these cars are allowed to offer paid rides anytime during
the day in the city of San Francisco.
These cars costed billions of dollars in investment by the tech auto industry, it
is a real technological advance.
So, Cruise operates 300 vehicles in the city all
days long.
And if you were wondering, how do they function, it is thanks to
sensors all around the car like in this picture.
After that, some opposants of these cars went to the commission headquarters....
