Nowadays the internet is accessible for nearly everyone. For us it's almost impossible to imagine life without it because we are all the time using it for doing researches or other things. It has become integrated in our way of life and thinking, but is it more an endless source of information and gratification or more a virtual private nightmare?
On the one hand are the arguments in favour of the internet as source of information.
First of all, the internet allows us to get very fast a lot of information. There is a large amount of information for every topic available on the internet. When you need to look something up for school you don`t need to go to the library or ask someone, you only switch your computer on and you get your information.
Moreover, you can shop online and compare prices which aren't possible in the real shops. For example, when you don't have a lot of time, but want new clothes then you can buy them online without leaving your house and wasting your precious time.
Also, the internet offers a huge choice of entertainment. When it's a rainy day and you don't know what to do, you can go on the internet and watch movies on YouTube. The Internet is the perfect solution for boring days.
On the other hand are the arguments of the Internet as a nightmare.
Firstly, the Internet has a lack of security. You say your credit card number and other private details in your computer and then somebody hack in your computer and find everything about you he can even use your accounts for buying things and you are paying
Furthermore, the internet makes that you are isolating yourself from the other people because you do everything by your one. You are sitting alone in front of the computer talking with nobody and when you even shop everything online you don't even go to shops. You are isolated from the rest.
Last of all, the internet is perfect for pedophiles. They are making fake online accounts where they are younger and then they are chatting with young boys and girls ask them to send pictures or make an appointment and then kidnap them.
In the light of what has been discussed above, I can say that the Internet even if it allows you to get a lot of information it is more a nightmare because it isn't secure a perfect place for pedophiles and it isolates yourself.
