BIOGRAPHIE COLDPLAY
Coldplay est un groupe britannique créé en 1996 .
Il est formé par l'auteur -compositeur -interprète
Chris Martin et le guitariste Jon Buckland .
Le
bassiste Guy Berryman rejoint ensuite le groupe,
avant que le batteur Will Champion ne vienne
compléter le quatuor.
Le producteur Phil Harvey
s'associe à leur proj et en tant que manager.
En 1998,
le groupe voit le jour sous son nom définitif .
Ils en
profitent alors pour signer chez le label Parlophone.
Coldplay a été nommé trois fois pour le Mercury
Prize : en 2000, 2003 et enfin en 2005.
Coldplay est
un des succè s commerciaux du nouveau millénaire,
avec plus de 40 millions d'albums vendus.
Le groupe
est également connu pour ses titres single, tels que
Yellow, Speed Of Sound, The Scientist, Clocks qui
remporta un Grammy Award, Violet Hill et Viva La
Vida (Grammy aw ard 2009), les deux premiers
extraits de leur album Viva la Vida or Death and All
His Friends.
Le 15 janvier 2006, le groupe annonce qu’il arrête de
chanter pour « de nombreuses années »
Il s’avère qu'en fait Chris Martin voulait juste dire
que le groupe allait faire une courte pause afin de se
consacrer à des collaborations avec d'autres
chanteurs, avant d'entamer la préparation de leur
nouvel album.
Leur dernier album intitulé Viva la
Vida or Death and All His Friends est sorti en France
le 16 juin 2008 .
En 2009, malgré certaines rumeurs annonçant la
séparation du groupe, Coldplay reprend le chemin
des studios d'enregistrement et prépare un nouvel
album, Ce nouveau disque est prévu pour 2011 et
viendra clôturer le contrat liant le groupe à la
maison d e disques Parlophone.
Avec huit albums studio, le dernier intitulé Everyday
Life, Coldplay est l'un des plus grands groupes à
succès , avec plus de 90 millions de disques vendus à
travers le monde
Régulièrement récompensé, le groupe a notamment
remporté neuf Brit Awards, sept Grammy Awards,
six Q Awards ou encore sept NME Awards.
En décembre 2009, il est aussi élu quatrième
meilleur artiste des années 2000 par les lecteurs
du magazine Rolling Stone.

would stop singing for "many years"

say that the band was going to take a short break to
focus on collabo rations with other singers, before
starting the preparation of their new album.

latest album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
was released in France on June 16, 2008.
In 2009, despite some rumors announcing the band's
separation, Coldplay r eturned to the recording
studios and prepared a new album, This new album
is scheduled for 2011 and will close the contract
linking the band to the Record company Parlophone.
With eight studio albums, the latest titled Everyday
Life, Coldplay is one of th e biggest hit bands, with
more than 90 million records sold worldwide
Regularly awarded, the band has won nine Brit
Awards, seven Grammy Awards, six Q Awards and
seven NME Awards.
In December 2009, he was also voted the fourth best
artist of the 2000s by readers of Rolling Stone
magazine..
