« In 2008 Banksy created his mural "One Nation Under CCTV" on Newman Street in London.

It was 23 feet (7 meters) long.

The Westminster City Council commanded its removal later that year.

Closed Circuit Television, or CCTV, refers to security cameras that are dispersed across the city but are controlled and owned by the government.

A Londoner is filmed 300 times every day on average. A young boy with a red hoodie is depicted in this piece of art standing on a ladder while holding a paint roller in his left hand.

The phrase "ONE NATION UNDER CCTV" is being painted by him in big white capital letters.

A police officer is inspecting the boy with his Doberman as company.

The location of the artwork right next to a security camera is ironic and deliberate. There is a connection between "One nation under CCTV" and another Banksy piece that criticizes the government and surveillance: Three spies appear to be investigating a phone booth in Banksy's artwork while using recording and listening equipment. Because the young boy is in the picture's center, the viewer is immediately drawn to him.

The placement of the security guard next to the child causes a certain degree of tension.

The security guard stands for authority and power, while the youngster is a symbol of helplessness and weakness.

Additionally, the dog's breed, a Doberman, heightens the feeling of authority and power because of the breed's reputation for being quite frightful and aggressive.
