Dear readers, it is finally today that I have designed an article by myself as a guide on
Drorothea lange is particularly one of her photographs
Dorothea Lange is an American photographer.
She is who Witness of the
Great Depression, she documents the effects of the crisis of 1929.
In
1935, she was hired by the federal agencies developed by F.
D.
Roosevelt
as part of the New Deal, then by the photographic section of the Farm
Security Administration (FSA) from 1937.
Crisscrossing American roads to
report on the effects of agricultural policies, she marks the history of
documentary photography through her human and empathetic gaze.
What is this photo about? Documentary photography bears witness to
the society of our time.
It reflects the present and is an archive for the
future.
It focuses on the individual in his relationship to humanity.
It
records its behaviors in work, war, play, or the course of its activities
during the 24 hours of a day, the cycle of the seasons or the course of a
lifetime.
It depicts institutions – family, church, government, political
organizations, clubs, unions.
It not only shows their facades but seeks to
reveal how they function, shelter life, impose loyalty and influence the
conduct of human beings.
